\nIdentify whether the learner also has dyslexia
\nFind ways to integrate strong interests or passions into learning
\nEncourage the student to communicate (this may be their only opportunity to do so during the day)
\nUse visual support for instructions and schedules
\nProvide ample space and comfortable seating that allows the student to move
\nGive instructions in both languages
\nMonitor bullying in the classroom (nearly half of children with autism experience bullying)
\nProblems usually arise with students with autism when there is a lack of communication between parents and teachers, and when teachers are not supported or provided with the appropriate tools, resources, and training.
